The Heart of Our Book

At the heart of The Befriending is one beautiful question:

What happens when we begin to befriend our lives?

What changes when we bring love to something we've feared, judged, rejected or kept at a distance? When we begin to meet ourselves, one another and the world with the heart of a friend?

Our Five Mysteries are:

The Shadow · The Heart · The Unseen · The Body Temple · The World

Think of each piece you write as a pearl of light, waiting to be woven into our rosary.

3. Guidelines

Your Contribution

Whether you're contributing 10 or 15 pages, you're welcome to express yourself through one creative form or a beautiful blend of several.

Poems & Prayers

  • 1 page: Maximum 25 lines.

  • 2 pages: Maximum 50 lines in total.

  • Titles and blank lines are included in the line count.

Mantras

  • 1 mantra = 1 page.

Letters, Channeled Messages, Short Essays & Symbolic Stories

  • Maximum 300 words per page.

  • Maximum 600 words per piece (2 pages).

Please honour your agreed page allowance and the limits for each piece.

We're creating a contemplative art book, where every offering has space to breathe. A few lines can hold an entire universe.

Your Pearls of Light

You don't need to tell your whole life story. Sometimes one moment, one encounter or one small shift in understanding can hold something deeply meaningful.

Bring us into the experience so we can feel it with you. Show us, rather than only telling us.

Your writing may take the form of lived experience, poetry, prayer, a letter, a symbolic story or even magical realism. Follow what feels true and alive for you.

Some pieces may speak to more than one mystery, and that's beautiful. You don't need to decide where each piece belongs.

I'll weave all the contributions into the Five Mysteries, placing each pearl where I feel it belongs within the greater whole; Each piece will carry your name beneath it, but your contributions will not appear together in the finished book.

4) Important Dates

  • October 11, 2026: Opening ceremony and writing journey begins

  • January 11, 2027: First drafts due

  • Mid-January – mid-February: Individual refinement sessions

  • Following 3 weeks: Finalising and submitting contributions

  • March – May 2027: Editorial work and book design

  • June 11, 2027: Prelaunch gathering

  • August 11, 2027: Global book launch

  • September 19, 2027: (Optional) Soulful Afterglow Book Bath

Once you've submitted your final contributions, I'll take them into the editing and design phase, gently polishing and refining the pieces where needed, while honouring each author's unique voice.

5) Personal Guidance & Support

15-page contributors: Your introductory session with me is included. If you haven't booked yours yet, you're warmly invited to do so.

Everyone will have a 1:1 refinement session with me after the first draft is delivered.
